UPPER RIVER HALL Kangaroo Valley NSW

The Turn of the Screw CANCELLED

CANCELLED

FINAL SHOW CANCELLED

It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel the final show of The Turn of the Screw on Saturday 21 March.

Due to the intimate nature of the show, the audience seating arrangements and the demographic of Kangaroo Valley, we feel that it is the most socially responsible thing to do at this stage. The way the staging is set up for this show, it would not be possible to maintain social distancing as an audience or cast member.

Ticket holders will be contacted and refunded.

We are hoping that we will re-mount this production at The ARTSLAB at a later date, in safer times.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you so much for your support.

Stay well!

——————————

Jillian O’Dowd and Sarah Butler, are serving up another theatrical treat in March at Upper River Hall.

The Turn of the Screw is darkly funny, surprising and spooky. The play is based on the Victorian novella by Henry James which first appeared in serial format in Collier’s Weekly magazine in London in 1898. The nail-biting tale, with all its gothic trappings, was adapted for the stage by Jeffrey Hatcher in 1996, and has also inspired novels, an opera and several films. An old fashioned ghost story with contemporary twists, this production will keep audiences on their toes, and make their very hearts…stop!

Opening on Friday the 13th, and playing three nights only, Saturday 14th and Saturday 21st March, the show is sure to delight audiences, with its ghostly theatricality, unusual staging and a very real picnic!

“A letter, a locket, a riddle, a name: the story of something altogether…not”.

Ticket price includes refreshments. The show runs for 90 minutes with an interval. We will be collecting donations for the Kangaroo Valley Bushfire Relief at the shows.

The show is not recommended for children under ten years as it contains supernatural themes. Bookings are essential.

Brought to Kangaroo Valley by arrangement with Music Theatre International Australasia Pty Ltd, on behalf of Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
