Paris! Up a river… with baby et Lulu

Those who braved the cold winter night on Saturday 28 July, those lucky and quick enough to get tickets to this sold-out event, stepped through a red velvet curtain and into Paris for the evening.

The upper river bistro was warm, cosy and very Parisienne, with gingham tables, vases of lavenders and blackboards to tantalise tastebuds — detailing the ‘Table d\’hôte’ menu for the evening and an impressive wine list (all in French of course!)

This amazing little hall in the middle of the paddocks was transformed yet again into a glowing hub of food and music… a delicious, rustic entrée and main course were followed by the first of two incredible sets from Baby et Lulu. Abby Dobson and Lara Goodridge looked absolutely stunning (ooh la la!) and sounded even better…beautiful harmonies and cheeky French repartee, backed by an accomplished band consisting of double bass, flute, guitar, keys and piano accordion.

There were many highlights (delicious dessert included) and songs that brought people to their feet and dancing, but Abby’s French version of Even when I’m Sleeping was beautiful. What a night… c\’est magnifique!
