Lo Five
Upper River Hall gets funky!
We’ve done fabulous and French and now the Upper River Hall is getting funky, with the fantastic Sydney band Lo Five to warm up your feet and delicious soul food to warm up your bellies! Where better to spend a cold winter night than at the Upper River Hall on Saturday 13 July, where the braziers will be burning, the soul food steaming and the dance floor sizzling?
This is another not-to-be missed up a river… event but a little less formal and a whole lot groovier than our previous offerings. While there will be some tables and seats available for those who want to chillax and let the funk soul rhythms wash over their afros, this is retro party night with lots of room to groove and mingle, flap your flares and git on down!
Lo Five are a Soul and Groove three piece from Sydney featuring the smooth vocal stylings of super soul master Tam Morris, Al “Fingers” Goodman laying down the grooves on keys and “the man in the pocket” super slick Ian Mussington banging the skins. The Lo Five live experience delivers a swag of feels from across the skein of funk history that will transport you from Donny Hathaway’s neck of the woods via Amy Winehouse where you’ll say goodbye to Prince before your coach turns back into a pumpkin. Get ready to shake it to Lo Five Nu Soul originals peppered with banging soul covers with a twist.
