Pop-up Theatre 2025 Story Assembly

You are warmly invited to join us at Upper River Hall tomorrow morning (Saturday 4th October) where the 2025 Shark Island Story Assembly theatre artists will be doing a one-hour Viewpoints movement improvisation practice.

This group of talented creatives are in residence at Shark Island Kangaroo Valley this week, making a new work under the direction of Sam Chester, who is also the new Residency Director at Shark Island. The final work will be premiered at the end of February 2026 at The ARTSLAB.

So, come along this Saturday and see some of the process behind the work as these eight actors and internationally-awarded composer — Ekrem Eli Phoenix — explore the hall for the first time using a shared improvisational toolkit. There will be cups of tea and a chance to ask questions after. This is a free event and all ages are welcome.
